Ever wonder what happened to music appreciation classes in school? Do you miss learning about current musical trends on the radio or on TV? Join us on the Internet for a new kind of musical experience with Music Matters!

Music Matters is a multimedia travelogue that takes visitors on a musical journey around the world, hosted and narrated by Virginia Eskin of Northeastern University.

Virginia Eskin

Born out of the popular radio series “A Note To You,” broadcast on public radio stations around the country on NPR, Music Matters has evolved as a unique interactive multimedia web program for listeners of all ages. Created by veteran radio and recording producer Nat Johnson, Music Matters strives to introduce a wide choice of artistic styles to a general audience of all musical backgrounds.

Music Matters is informal but informative - educational and entertaining. Each program is based on a central musical idea divided into six or seven short segments. Listeners can choose which module to hear as many times as they wish, or decide to hear a different program altogether. This concept of listener choice is unique to web-based music listening and we hope you’ll enjoy each and every program!
